For a vegetarian option, you can substitute the ground beef with plant-based ground meat alternatives. They can provide a similar texture and taste while making the recipe suitable for vegetarians or those looking to reduce their meat consumption.
If you prefer a crispier bacon topping, you can crumble the cooked bacon after it has cooled down to retain its crunchiness. Simply sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the pie before baking for an added crispy texture.
This recipe pairs well with a side of crispy fries or a fresh green salad for a complete meal. Consider serving it with some tangy coleslaw or a refreshing cucumber and tomato salad to complement the flavors of the cheeseburger pie.

If you're watching your calorie intake, you can further reduce the fat content by using turkey bacon or turkey sausage instead of traditional bacon. Additionally, opting for reduced-fat crescent rolls and cheese can help lighten up the dish without compromising on flavor.
Make sure to let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing it. This will help the flavors settle and ensure that the filling holds together when cut.
